A stockroom focus

A challenge to habitual patterns of seeing and perception motivates Rebecca Beardmore’s art. Her Reflection series of impressionistic self-portraits, printed on paper, capture a sense of fleeting illusion and immateriality. The artist toys with the notion of reflection as physical image and in the psychological sense of review and introspection. Rebecca Beardmore won Australia’s most prestigious print award, the Freemantle Print Prize in 2010. Her work is held in the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales and a number of significant public and private collections.
With an $70,000 prize pool, it represents a global selection of the best work from emerging and established photographers.
