This exhibition explores the ‘digital composite collage’.
Images, with subliminal connections, were drawn from the artist’s stock library and edited in Photoshop. Parts were cut and pasted, the assembled layers were adjusted with light and colour. Form and movments were enhanced or subdued, to create a matrix narrative.
Time and space were worked into the composition, creating a depth of field, of patterning and storytelling. Some of the works depict detailed scenes in a theatrical manner, in others, repetition is used to build a thythm of patterns of colour and intensity within which a subject or object is discovered. An experience of mystery, humour and discovery awaits the viewer.
