An on-going Auto-Project drawing from my life and the search for self. It explores what touches me, what comes from me, what drives me, what surrounds me and what makes me live.
The starting point of this body of work was a “non”-connection with myself, my roots, my language, my mother tongue, my body.
It is the expression of simple, everyday life happenings which I come across or better, which come across me. My work is driven by the desire to reveal visual pleasure in the simple and banal things of everyday life…
GODELIEVE MOLS is a Dutch photographer living in Sydney, Australia. After completing a Masters degree in Textile Art, Mols left the Netherlands for Paris, where she worked as a stylist and fabric developer in the trend forecasting and fashion industry. She committed fully to photography in 2008. Mols is currently working on several ongoing personal projects concerning family, essays on daily life and a Northern Territory Aboriginal community. She was a 2009 finalist in the Sydney Life Photographic Competition, a 2010 finalist in the Head On Portrait Prize, a 2011 and 2012 finalist the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards and a 2013 finalist in the United photography Industries Competition.
