Learn the tricks and discover the wonder of night photography from the experimental photographer Peter Solness at his ‘Night Magic Photographic Workshop’. The ‘Night Magic’ class will teach you how to apply light in carefully considered and playful ways to create unique and exciting images. Meeting at the historic Superintendents Residence opposite the Paddington Gates, there will be native wildflowers to photograph and a slide presentation, followed by a briefing about how to achieve the best possible results with your night photos. Armed with your knowledge, you’ll then head out into Centennial Park’s picturesque paperbark and fig groves where you will ‘paint’ the trees with torchlight. There will also be other nice surprises, such as a ‘Fire Breathing Lion’ to photograph.
