The Muogamarra Reserve is among the most exclusive and prestigious areas of bushland in the wider Sydney area. This extremely well protected sanctuary, which suffered a devastating bushfire in 2002, is known for its splendid views as well as its rich and verdant wildlife, including an extraordinary array of wildflowers. Julia Pannell’s dreamlike and often surreal portraits of these plants reveal all of nature’s perfections, imperfections and dazzling colours. Julia’s remarkable close-ups, taken in Spring 2011, truly bring out the intricacies and secrets of the wildflowers of Muogamarra and act as a tribute to the resilience of the Australian wildlife.
