Ambivalence towards the confinement of home underlies my photographic practice; my photographs therefore seek out physical and imaginative thresholds that exist at the edge of domestic space. Working within my immediate living environment with long exposure photography, lighting, performance and projected images, I create ambiguous imagery that dissolve distinctions between interior and exterior (or other) spaces. Recent work extends on this, as I consider home in an Australian context. The exhibition Outside the Interior draws upon an understanding that many people maintain a mediated experience with the Australian environment, protected by the walls of their house.
