Since European colonisation, Aboriginal land has never been ceded. The original peoples of Australia have never yielded. Today, an area of land, known as ‘The Block’ – rich in Aboriginal history and located in the inner Sydney suburb of Redfern – is under threat by developers.

In May 2014, Aunty Jenny Munro and her supporters set up a ‘tent embassy’ at The Block as an assertion of sovereignty and to champion low-cost housing for Aboriginal families. The images presented at this exhibition are a document of the last 12 months of life at the Embassy.
