Conversations with the Land

Christian is fascinated by the way the Australian landscape influences his behaviour when alone. Christian finds himself whispering out loud to the sky, the trees, the water and rocks. His mind is allowed to riff, inextricably linked to the emotions that the landscape conjures. He loses himself in the land and for a brief moment becomes part of it, feeling the richness of the time it has experienced. Christian’s work represents this space that is briefly inhabited and the ponderings and musings evoked. A meditation on the Australian landscape unbounded by a recognition of place.
With an $70,000 prize pool, it represents a global selection of the best work from emerging and established photographers.
