Rapidly changing mobile phone technology enables everyone with a smart phone to spontaneously capture moments or to apply the skills of a classically trained photo-artist. This genre is a newcomer to the world of photography but can already hold its own against more traditional and longer standing photographic techniques.
The Head On Mobile Prize was launched in 2014 to reflect the changing nature of photography and celebrate the huge diversity of images produced.
The works are anonymous through the judging and as a result, the show brings together both newly unearthed and established Australian and International talent.
Judges this year were LA Times Chief Photojournalist Michael Chavez, Fairfax Picture Editor Tegan Sadlier, Award Winning Mobile Photographer Misho Baranovic and Head On Photo Festival
Director Moshe Rosenzveig.
