In June and July 2012 Natalie Jeffcott embarked on her own “Griswald style” family road trip vacation to the USA. The title of this series is Holiday Road and aims to document the changing and often decaying roadside / urban landscape. Natalie is interested in the once popular roadside pitstops and once popular tourist attractions, combined with the history of travelling by roads, which in time are bypassed by better highways and dotted with modern and often featureless new places. That in turn repeat this cycle. She is drawn to the fading textures, colour and graphic shapes that are left behind and a sense of sadness or nostalgia for the past.
