Svetlana Bailey photographs in fog in various unrelated locations. The phenomenon of fog acts as a portal to the transitory quality of the surroundings. Objects lose their finiteness of appearance, borders become obscured and the context within which one normally associates objects is removed. Fog creates separation, and when no longer bound to their surroundings, things appear as they are. But they too can seem less ordinary, isolated within the landscape in which they normally exist. This exhibition at MOP Projects includes new work arising from a residency at the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Beijing.
