The exhibition is a series of miniature table-top tableaux with dolls constructed and photographed by Anke Stäcker with the scenes based on snippets of memories and anecdotes from growing up in Hamburg, Germany after WWII. The process of construction triggers a chain of thoughts and ideas, mixing reality and fiction. The fictitious Zora is set in the reality of a camp for war refugees. Coal Thieves turns little girls into the protagonists of real events where mainly boys used to steal coals from the railway tracks, and Autumn Leaves takes you on a ride through the woods.
