BLUE AND WHITE and TREASURED TILES are Emma Hack’s latest collections to be exhibited in Sydney in association with the Head On photographic festival.
Blue and White, features the fascinating evolution of blue and white ceramics, evolved throughout the trade from Asia to Europe centuries ago. The collection features the patterns from 5 countries: China, Holland, England, France and Portugal.
Treasured Tiles, are inspired by her recent travels throughout Spain and Portugal featuring the bright, repetitive designs seen on her journey. Emma has transformed the patterns and created compositions onto the skin of her models in a clash of colour and design. These artworks took up to 12 hours to create on the human form. The final “painting” is photographed by Emma and printed as limited edition, C type prints.
Emma’s profile as increased worldwide with her collaboration on GOTYE’s hit single ‘Somebody that I used to know’ featuring Emma’s body painting in his music clip. It took 23hrs to paint and is using film stop animation.
