Tim McGreen
portrait
Tim McGreen was born in Cooktown in Far North Queensland and grew up in the nearby Indigenous community of Hope Vale where he is now an elder of the Duhppi clan. Tim recalls special memories of his childhood learning from an older person. He didn’t know then that he himself would be one day teaching the young kids the culture and traditions that were taught to him. Having worked in several places, including cattle stations and local councils, today Tim work with the Welfare Reform team supporting individuals and families to look after their country. Tim’s wife Elaine and their children currently live in Hope Vale and this is where Tim proudly intends to remain until the day he dies.
