Digital photography has evolved over the past few years to the point where it provides photographers with more control and flexibility than ever before. With this in mind, a unique one-day event has been announced by the Head On Foundation to present digital photographers with expert tools and techniques for managing, enhancing and processing digital Portrait Photography.

Taking place at Sydney’s Chauvel Cinema on 4 March 2009, the Head On Seminar will provide amateur and professional photographers the opportunity to learn, discover and share along with some of the top photographers and digital artists in Australia. 

Learn a variety of tips and tricks to create stunning portraits and how to manage and manipulate images with confidence and speed while getting the best possible results from the images captured by the camera.

Eight expert presenters will reveal the art of creating beautifully lit, sensibly posed, excitingly composed story-telling images. Learn the secrets to creating great work and getting it published from award-winning photographers. The sessions will be presented by some of Australia’s foremost commercial photographers and photojournalists and will cover diverse topics related to portraiture, technical and beyond. There will also be a mini trade show featuring some of the latest offerings from Head On sponsors.

Adam Knott

Tim Bauer is a multi award winning photographer whose career has spanned over two decades with enormous success in all areas of commercial photography from corporate trough photojournalism and editorial to advertising. He photographed many celebrities include Charlton Heston, Audrey Hepburn, Andy Warhol, Russel Crowe, Kylie Minogue, John Howard, Margaret Thatcher and many more. His list of clients includes Qantas, Toyota, Canon, American Express, Bonds, Microsoft and Australian Tourism Commission with work published in leading national and international magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, Wired, New Yorker, NY Times, Who Weekly, Elle, ACP and Fairfax Group (www.timbauerphoto.com)
Stephen Dupont is a multi award winning photographer and a member of Contact Press Images. His reportages which have been widely featured in major international publications, have earned him some of photography’s most prestigious prizes, including a Robert Capa Gold Medal citation from the Overseas Press Club of America, first places in World Press Photo and at Pictures of the Year International and the W.Eugene Smith Prize for Humanistic Photography.
